THE VISION
THE EXECUTION
Our technical and flight operations team oversaw all logistics, including airspace analysis, FAA waivers, and safety planning. Every element from flight formations and design parameters to launch sites and airspace requirements was adapted to ensure the show remained both safe and spectacular. The performance was first simulated in software, ensuring each design was crafted within safe parameters, then tested in flight before the official launch to guarantee a flawless execution. Once out in the real-world environment, drone utilize redundant communication systems with centimeter level accuracy, along with operation within multiple geofences, allowing for safe and stable execution. On site, our dedicated crew members worked by setting up the grid, inspecting and calibrating drones, monitoring airspace, and securing restricted zones. Their efforts, from day to night, ensured a safe and seamless experience for all who were in attendance.
Postcard from Minnesota was created to celebrate the state’s natural beauty, iconic figures, and courageous heroes. We were honored to recognize a community close to home by paying tribute to their three fallen heroes. With a fleet of 1,000 drones, the sky was painted with each hero’s badge, badge number, and full name, accompanied by the message “Heroes Live Forever.” Honoring these officers and firefighters with the utmost personalization was a true privilege. The show also featured a portrait of Prince, one of Minnesota’s most beloved and influential artists. Including him in the performance was both a natural choice and a tremendous honor for our team. The audio synchronization for this performance required hours of mixing and careful consideration of song selection. Audio plays a vital role in shaping the emotions we aim to evoke from the audience. Our goal was to keep the show energetic and uplifting, while also honoring the heroes with a moment of remembrance. To close, we chose a piece that would leave audience feeling inspired. The drone light experience became a true journey of emotions, and creating that emotional ride is something we take great pride in.
