    During and leading up to a drone show, a variety of safety measures are implemented to ensure drones are in compliance with the FAA guidelines. There must be a restricted area underneath and surrounding the show, ensuring a comfortable distance for the audience. Furthermore, safety measures are implemented within the computer software and animation process to ensure safe execution in-air. Lastly, there are many measures our pilots and crew take before and during takeoff to ensure your show is safe for all who attend.

  • How does weather impact drone shows?
    Weather can significantly impact drone shows, as factors like wind, rain, and temperature can affect the drones' performance and safety. It's crucial to monitor weather conditions closely and have contingency plans in place to ensure a successful show.
  • Can I participate in the design process of my drone show?
    Yes, you can absolutely be involved in the design process! You will have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with our design team to bring your story to life. Collaboration with our team allows you to contribute ideas, preferences, and creative input to tailor the show to your vision.
  • Is Aerial Illuminations fully insured?
    Yes! We are fully insured with an aviation liability policy along with additional policies we have in place to ensure you and your show are protected.
  • What type of license do your pilots have?
    Our pilots are licensed by the FAA under Part 107. Aerial Illuminations is also equipped with additional FAA licenses allowing for the operation of drones nationwide.
  • What is the cost of a drone show?
    The cost will depend on a variety of factors including the number of drones, location, show complexity, etc. Reach out if you're considering - we're happy to talk through the details and further answer any questions.

  • What does Aerial Illuminations do to keep the audience safe?
    We establish a clearly marked area designating the space underneath and surrounding the show, in which all non-crew members are strictly prohibited from entering this area. Additionally, we have trained Visual Observers positioned around the outer area. These observers monitor the airways and foot traffic to ensure there is no unauthorized access, ensuring a secure environment is maintained for both the audience, as well as the drones performing. Furthermore, safety measures are implemented within the computer software and animation process to ensure safe execution in-air.
  • How many pilots are required to launch a drone show?
    One pilot, certified by the FAA under Part 107, is required. However, Aerial Illuminations goes above and beyond this standard by requiring a pilot and a co-pilot, both certified under Part 107. Our pilots work closely alongside each other to manage tasks that improve safety, efficiency, and mission control during operations.
